Kennedy Chinedu Okafor is an esteemed UK Senior Research Scientist; a Senior Member of IEEE, USA, boasting 20 years of rich research and development experience across various domains including Cloud Computing, Medical Robotics, Advanced Computing Systems, and Cyber-Physical systems. His journey began as a Senior R&D Engineer at the Electronic Development Institute (formerly Centre for Adaptation of Technology-CAT) under the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI-FMST) in Nigeria, where he made significant contributions from 2006 to 2014. Kennedy holds a plethora of vendor certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Professional, IEEE Big Data Analytics®, IEEE Cyber Security®, IEEE Green IT®, Cloud Governance (CCE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP®), CompTIA A+®, and CompTIA Server+®. His academic excellence culminated in the receipt of the prestigious Vice-Chancellor Award as the overall best graduating PhD student from the Faculty of Engineering, UNN in 2017. Continuing his academic journey, Kennedy embarked on a Postdoctoral position focusing on Driverless Cars and Networked Robotics at Imperial College London and Manchester Metropolitan Universities in England, UK. He also played a pivotal role as the link facilitator between National Instruments, Texas, USA, and FUTO, enabling Certification Lab Support, Training, and Equipping of FUTO Mechatronics Lab. He is a Visiting Faculty at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Kennedy's global impact extends to his role as a research collaborator with the Center for Lighting Enabled Systems & Applications (LESA) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA. He has been instrumental in organizing numerous IEEE conferences across Africa and has served as a Keynote Speaker at IEEE conferences in Asia and Africa. Additionally, Kennedy's expertise is sought after as a member of the Editorial Review Board for more than 15 High Impact Factor Journals worldwide. His prolific publication record includes over 150 authored/co-authored articles and reviews of over 200 papers for esteemed institutional and Impact Factor Journals globally. Kennedy has delivered over 50 invited talks, comprising keynotes, tutorials, and seminars. He has successfully secured approximately $2,160,756 in research/project grants in Nigeria and has spearheaded several IEEE, government, and university projects. In 2023, Kennedy contributed to UK Natural Capital Asset services valued at £1.8 Trillion, followed by his involvement in the UK Woodland project in 2024, with an asset value of £318 Billion. Currently, Kennedy holds pivotal roles including Chair of IEEE Skillup Hub, UK; Pioneer Chair of IEEE Consultants Networks AG, Nigeria; Pioneer Subsection Chair of IEEE South-East Nigeria, and Project Manager of CISCO Academy, Nigeria. Additionally, he serves as Chair of MSR-Labs at FUTO, embodying his commitment to advancing technology and education across borders.
