Chinenye Chukwuemeka Anyadike is the first female Professor and current Head, of the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering. Her research interest includes Soil, Water Resources and Aquacultural Engineering, Renewable Energy, and Smart Agricultural Systems. Prof. Anyadike is result oriented and passionate about activities that enhance the capacity and capability of women and youth in national development. Her passion for gender equity and social inclusion spurred her to pioneer the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) Nsukka Chapter; an advocacy group that continuously increase awareness that engineering is also a career for girls, thereby improving the strength of female engineers, encourage women to achieve professional excellence as engineers and leaders, and promote the engineering profession as positive force in enhancing the quality of life. As an advocate of Girl Child Education in STEM, she has organized successful STEM awareness programs, hands-on workshops, and capacity development programs for the girl child, collegiate and women in Engineering. She is also passionate about strengthening the capacity of rural women in agriculture and bio-resources endeavour. Prof. Anyadike holds a Ph.D, (2013, University of Nigeria) Masters, (2004, University of Nigeria), and Bachelor’s (1997, University of Agriculture, Makurdi) in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering and have been in the academic environment for over seventeen (17) years teaching, researching, mentoring and impacting positively the communities within her reach. She is a reviewer of several journals like the Journal of Computer and Electronics in Agriculture, Smart Agricultural Technology, and the Nigerian Journal of Technology (NIJOTECH). She has published several papers from her research work in both local, National, and International Journals. She is on parallel appointment with the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and also the Environmental Social Safe Guide Officer (ESSQ) ACE-SPED. Prof. Anyadike is an esteemed academic professional and a dedicated advocate for gender empowerment, particularly in fostering the participation of young girls in STEM careers. With a profound commitment to sustainable development and innovative solutions, she has actively engaged in several research initiatives, securing prestigious grants to advance knowledge and contribute to societal well-being. In collaboration with Onyia Construction & Research Ltd , Prof. Anyadike holds the role of Co-Principal Investigator in a project dedicated to advancing sustainable engineering education through innovative practices. Principal Investigator - Using Artificial Intelligence to enhance the Production, Management, and Marketing of Nsukka Yellow Pepper (September 2022 – February 2024) As the Principal Investigator, Prof. Anyadike spearheads a project funded by the African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) that leverages on artificial intelligence to revolutionize the production, management, and marketing of Nsukka Yellow Pepper. Principal Researcher - Feasibility and Viability Appraisal of Green City Project Development in Enugu, Nigeria TETFund National Research Fund (NRF) 2021 Award In recognition of Prof's expertise and commitment to impact research, the TETFund National Research Fund awarded a grant for the feasibility and viability appraisal of a Green City Project in Enugu, Nigeria.
