Professor Unachukwu, Godwin Ogechi holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Energy & Power Option) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; MEng Fuel & Energy Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State and BSc (Industrial Chemistry) from the University of Nigeria. Professor Unachukwu also holds certificates in Energy Management and Cleaner Production in Small and Medium Scale Industries from the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands; International Energy Policy; Financing Renewable Energy Projects (online courses), Berth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and Energy Efficiency in Industry, Commerce and Buildings from RENAC Berlin Germany. He was a former Acting Director, Energy Commission of Nigeria, National Centre for Energy Research and Development (NCERD), University of Nigeria Nsukka and presently the Deputy Director, Institute of Climate Change Studies, Energy and Environment (ICCSEE), University of Nigeria; Research Team Lead, Renewable Energy, Waste to Energy Conversion and Energy Conservation and Head of Programme, Energy Policy, Regulation and Management Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Professor Unachukwu is a member of Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and the Nigeria National Committee of World Energy Congress. He has research interests in the areas of Energy Management, Efficiency, Energy Policy, Climate change and energy conversion systems.
