Dr. Felix Uzochukwu Asoiro is born on 21st August, 1980 in Benin City, Edo State. He attended Ozolua Model Primary School, Iguobazuwa and Iguobazuwa Grammar School, Iguobazuwa, Edo State, Nigeria for his primary and secondary school education respectively. He obtained his First Degree (B. Eng) in the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 2005. He later obtained his Masters in Engineering (M.Eng) and Doctoral (Ph.D) degrees from the same Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in the years 2011 and 2017 respectively, with outstanding grades. Dr. Asoiro is the current Head of Program (HoP), Renewable and New Energy Systems (RNES), World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), His areas of specialization are in Bioenergy Engineering; Renewable & Biomass Energy Engineering; Food & Bioprocess Engineering; Drying; and Engineering and Chemical Properties of Biomaterials. Dr. Asoiro is a Senior Lecturer and has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Asoiro is a recipient of Erasmus+ KA107 Teaching Staff Mobility Award to Universidad de Leon, Spain (5th - 11th November, 2022) and a Fellow, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), Michigan State University’s Global Youth Advancement Network (GYAN), Alliance for African Partnership (AAP), and Office for Education Abroad. Administratively, he has served as chair and member of numerous committees at the university, faculty and departmental levels. He belongs to many professional bodies such as the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Dr. Asoiro is a Born-Again Christian, happily married and the marriage is blessed with children.
