Engr. Prof. Cajethan Nwosu

Prof. Cajethan Maduabuchi Nwosu is  the immediate past Head, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He obtained his B.Eng., M.Eng. and PhD degrees from the University of Nigeria in 1994, 2004 and 2015 respectively. Since 2005, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering with effect from 2018. In 2007, he undertook a three months pre-doctoral research on Wind/Solar Hybrid Power System and Renewable Energy Resources at the University of Technology, Delft (TU-Delft), the Netherlands. Engr. Prof. C. M. Nwosu had written two books and had published over fifty articles both in local and international reputable journals. He is the executive Vice-chairman of Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Nsukka chapter. He is the editor of Newsletter of The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Nsukka Chapter. He is the Applied Research Coordinator, World Bank African Center of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a member of Power Electronics Society of Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (PES IEEE). He is an editorial board member to (i) World Science Journal of Engineering Applications (ii) International Journal of Research Innovations in Electrical Engineering (IJRIEE). He is the Research Lead of Alternative Electrical Power and Energy Conversion (AEP & EC) Research Group Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has been a member of several University of Nigeria and Faculty committees including University of Nigeria Intra-Africa Mobility Scholarships Project; Faculty of Engineering Consultancy Committee; Secretary, Carnegie-Africa in Diaspora Train the Trainer Programme, Faculty of Engineering; Chairman, Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association (NUESA) Staff Adviser; Secretary, Committee on Maiden Homecoming and Awards 2015 of the Department of Electrical Engineering; Synergy between University of Nigeria Nsukka and Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC). His areas of research interests include power electronic converters, electrical drives, automatic controls and renewable energy technologies.
