Professor Emmanuel Chukwudi Ihekwoaba is a distinguished scholar and Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also serves as Deputy University Librarian and Head of Technical Services at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library. He earned his Ph.D. (2017), M.L.S. (2008), and B.Sc.Ed (1999) in Library and Information Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and holds a Certificate of Achievement in Digital Education Training (2022). He was certified as a Chartered Librarian by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) in 2012. Prof. Ihekwoaba’s academic and professional expertise spans inclusive library and information services for sight-impaired students, digital accessibility, information literacy, metadata and cataloguing standards, ICT integration in librarianship, and sustainable digital repositories. He also demonstrates strong research and teaching interests in marketing innovation and entrepreneurship within information service environments. His publications, including the widely cited Access Provision for Sight-Impaired Students in Nigerian University Libraries (Library Trends), reflect his commitment to advancing equitable access, innovation, and sustainability in library and information practice. He lectures at the African Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and is an active member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), Imo Professors Forum (IPF) where he serves as Secretary, and the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T).
